In Sydney’s east, a child was stuck between a car and a tree for 40 minutes following a terrible accident.
At around 3:40pm, a 12-year-old boy was hit by a car that mounted the curb at the intersection of Gardeners Road and Bunnerong Road in Kingsford. Emergency services quickly responded to the scene.
The Police Rescue Squad eventually freed him and quickly took him to Sydney Children’s Hospital in a critical state.
The 17-year-old boy who was driving with a provisional license was not hurt and was brought to the Prince of Wales Hospital for compulsory testing.
A statement from the New South Wales Police confirmed that a crime scene has been secured by officers from the Eastern Beaches Police Area Command and will be investigated by specialist police.
Motorists were told to stay away from the area because of major traffic delays.
The Live Traffic alerts state that drivers heading north on Bunnerong Rd are redirected to General Bridges Cr.
Southbound drivers on Anzac Pde should proceed straight ahead on Anzac Pde or continue towards Bunnerong Rd.
