According to a joint task force north statement, a helicopter went down Friday evening near the US-Mexico border, killing three people and injuring one person.
Defense official Says, the helicopter belonged to a National Guard Lakota-UH-72 helicopter.
According to JTF-N, the helicopter assigned to the Federal Southwest border support mission went down Friday at 2:50 pm MST while operating near the city of Rio Grande City. The FAA is currently investigating the cause of the incident.
The Department of Public Safety in Texas was also involved in the investigation.
